Get your tickets for the Steamboat Bordello Independence Day party and celebrate the 4th July, Coney Island style.
Coney Island show
With the Elizabethan Paddle Steamer doubling up as a Coney Island ferry to transport you to a world of freaks, geeks, and circus performers, the Steamboat Bordello Independence Day party is bound to be one of the more memorable ways to herald in the 4th July. Regardless of whether you hail from the other side of the pond or are simply a fan of all things Americana, the parade of sequinned showgirls, sideshow performers and even a terrifying man eating chicken are bound to make your mind boggle.
Tour of the Thames
What better way to celebrate American Independence Day than with a whimsical homage to Coney Island, New York City's pleasure garden from the 1830s to 1970s? The Steamboat Bordello Independence Day party takes place on board a beautifully maintained Mississippi style steamboat, which leaves from Tower Pier and travels upriver to Battersea before turning around and travelling to the Thames Barrier.
Star acts
Cabaret and burlesque performers taking part in the Steamboat Bordello Independence Day party include fire-eater, snake charmer and tattooed lady Missy Macabre, as well as rhythm and blues band King Salami and the Cumberland Three. Dusty Limits will be your guide for the night, while more risque performances come courtesy of Ophelia Bitz, Ruby Blues, El Nino and Count Sizzle.
The Steamboat Bordello Independence Day party takes place from 5pm, Sunday 3rd July 2011. Tickets cost £40.00. Age Restriction: 18+
